How to Enable Grammarly in Google Docs?
Grammarly is a web-based software that can be accessed in Google Docs through an extension. It enhances the overall write-up or formatting of documents by automatically identifying errors. Moreover, it provides solutions and suggestions to improve the quality of documents.

Firstly, an existing document is considered to enable the extension of “Grammarly” in the below document.
Step 1: Add Grammarly Extension
After that, search for “grammarly extension for chrome” in the “Google Chrome” browser and select the link which is associated with the “chrome webstore”.
After pressing the link, it navigates to “chrome web store” and presses the “Add to Chrome” button.
After pressing the button, a new pop-up window is generated with “Add extension” and “Cancel” options. Click on the “Add extension” that can be seen in the below figure.
After that, the “Grammarly” extension was added, which can be verified in the below screenshot.

Step 2: Open Grammarly in Google Docs
Once the extension is active, a “Grammarly” icon will be placed inside your document. The following image is attached as a reference.
Hovering the mouse on the above icon, a small window will be generated. Click on the “YES, CHECK IT!” option.
After that, the Grammarly suggestion icon will appear, as shown below.
Click on the suggestion icon, and a new window pane will be opened that contains the suggestions and the recommendations.
You can click on each mistake, choose the recommended one, or correct it manually. Not only word suggestions, but Grammarly also helps with rewriting and correcting sentences, as shown below.

Moreover, users can customize the setting of “Grammarly” for suggestions, synonyms, auto-correct spelling, prediction, etc. Moreover, users can choose the language for Grammarly as well (as in our case, it is set to “American English”).
How to Correct Any Grammatical Error in Google Docs?
Grammarly provides various parameters through which the document can be fine-tuned. These features/components are listed below:
- Correctness: It refers to the correction of spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Clarity: It indicates the suggestion of rephrasing sentences.
- Engagement: It refers to the flow of a sentence.
- Delivery: It suggests the tone of the sentence.
A practical experience in identifying errors such as “auto-saving” in the below document.
By pressing the double click on the error, it provides solutions such as “auto-saving” to correct the specified error “auto saving”.
Moreover, users have the option to dismiss the suggestions by pressing the “Dismiss” icon that is present in the right corner of the document. In this scenario, the suggestion “,and” is dismissed by pressing the “Dismiss”(Trash) icon.
